BECCA Cosmetics Visits LIM College

LIM’s Cosmetics Club hosted a panel discussion on November 27 that featured representatives from BECCA Cosmetics, a brand of the Estee Lauder company.

The panel of five young professionals spoke about the role of “beauty influencers” and where they think the industry is headed in the coming years. They also offered practical advice on launching a career in cosmetics. The importance of networking was emphasized by Global Brand Marketing Director Amanda Jones. “You have to brand yourself so people know who you are and what you want,” she said.

Students asked about how they could turn internships to jobs. “I cannot stress enough the importance of internships – that is definitely how you learn what you like to do,” said Maria Sanchez-Hildago Santos, who directs human resources for BECCA Cosmetics.

Social Media manager Camila Rachmanis added, “I interned at Estee Lauder in college and it’s definitely the reason I was able to get this job.”

In addition to Jones, Santos, and Rachmanis, the panel included Devon Bartley, Director of Global Brand Marketing, and Shelagh Wong, Executive Director of Business Affairs and Strategy.
