Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney cites LIM College as one the of world’s leading fashion schools

In an opinion piece in Crain’s New York Business, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, who received an honorary Doctor of Humane letters degree from LIM College in 2016, writes about the tremendous positive impact the fashion industry has on the economy of New York City. She notes that the industry in NYC boasts 900 companies and employs over 180,000 people, with salaries averaging nearly $80,000 a year.

Congresswoman Maloney also notes that, “We don’t just design, market and make fashion in New York—we teach it.”
