Fashion as Art — The 2016 Fashion: Now & Then Conference

The sixth annual Fashion: Now & Then conference, a three-day event in which participants will discuss the past, present, and future uses of fashion information and art in fashion, will be held at LIM College from October 20-22. Presenters will come from the fashion industry, libraries, archives, academic institutions, publishers, collectors, and museums and represent a full range of expertise.

The theme for this year’s Fashion: Now & Then conference is Fashion as Art and will feature presenters and artists who demonstrate how fashion information and art in fashion have changed in the past and how these topics will continue to evolve in the future.

Presentation topics for 2016 include the shopping bag as an art form, gender fluidity in men’s fashion, Karl Lagerfeld, and the NFL’s development of apparel for female fans.

Fashion: Now & Then is produced by LIM College’s Adrian G. Marcuse Library.
