Incoming freshman named Queen Infanta of Ocean City Parade

Samantha DelSordo, an incoming LIM College freshman, was named the Queen Infanta for the 107th annual Baby Parade to be held on the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey, reports the Ocean City Patch website.

Queen Infanta candidates are selected based on their school and community involvement.

The Baby Parade is a popular local pageant that gives proud parents a chance to show off their children. Little tykes in costumes, decorated strollers, and floats are all part of the event, which will be held on August 11.

Famous folks who have participated in the Baby Parade in the past include baseball great Joe DiMaggio, who rode in the back of a convertible as grand marshal in the 1983 parade. And, before she became a movie star and Princess Grace of Monaco, a 16-year-old Grace Kelly sat in a lifeguard boat in the 1947 parade.
