Kohl’s Hosts LIM Students at Career Expo

Three LIM College sophomores, Jessie Karagosian, Isabelle Gobert, and Erin Jacobson, all Fashion Merchandising majors, were recently invited to spend a weekend at Kohl’s headquarters in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin to learn more about working for the retailer and potential career paths at their annual Sophomore Expo. The trip was entirely paid for by Kohl’s.

According to Isabelle, the students participated in a session with former Kohl’s interns that discussed what it's like to intern there, and then had their resumes reviewed by Kohl’s recruiters.

The students also had professional headshots taken and received advice on how to develop their personal brand on LinkedIn. There was also a lunch with Kohl’s executives.

“The trip benefitted me more than I could have imagined. I realized that Kohl’s is somewhere that I would love to work one day,” said Jessie. “I learned that the best thing to do to try to be employed by Kohl’s is to intern for them over the summer before senior year, and hopefully be offered a job after graduating. This was the path for a lot of the current employees at Kohl’s.”
