LIM Alumna is Beyonce’s Wardrobe Curator

Zerina Akers (Class of 2009), is a fashion and celebrity stylist, and the personal stylist and wardrobe curator for Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. In a recent interview published on Forbes.com, she talks about attending LIM College and participating in an LIM study abroad program at the University of Westminster in London.

While at LIM, Zerina interned with Stella McCartney and freelanced at W Magazine and Women’s Wear Daily. She then went on to assist stylists and worked on everything from television commercials to fashion editorials. Zerina’s first in-house position was at Brooks Brothers.

In 2014 she became Beyoncé’s personal stylist. While the paparazzi documented Zerina’s work with Beyoncé, the singing superstar also put up #ootd (outfit of the day) posts to her over 74 million followers on Instagram. 

Says Zerina, “Working with Beyoncé is a dream that I didn’t know I was allowed to dream.”
