LIM Alumna Launches Mobile Nail Salon
October 4, 2016
Paulina Serrato ('15) recently launched www.maniorpedi.com, a mobile service offering manicures and pedicures to New Yorkers who don’t have time to visit a salon or spa. Paulina, who is originally from Tijuana, Mexico, graduated from LIM College with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising.
Paulina says the idea for her business was inspired by a simple question — “Wouldn’t it be great if you could get your nails done at work?” This concept then expanded into at home, hotels, or events. Customers can book online at www.maniorpedi.com or via an app available for iOS and Android devices.
According to Paulina, “As a 100% mobile nail salon, maniorpedi.com offers customers something that traditional salons can’t — accessibility and flexibility. Our door-to-door service increases the exclusivity factor, giving every single customer the VIP experience.”
She continues, “Our business practices are really simple. It’s about saving our customers time, providing them with experienced technicians, and always remaining transparent about our safety, cleanliness, and the products we use.”
When asked what advice she has for aspiring entrepreneurs Paulina says, "It won't be easy and it won't happen overnight. You have to be patient. If you really believe in your idea or product, stick to it."
