LIM College 2017 Student Fashion Show
March 24, 2017
LIM College’s 73rd annual Fashion Show, titled "Colors of the World," will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom at 311 West 34th St. in Manhattan on Friday, March 24 at 7:30 pm.
Eurydice Sanchez, one of the faculty advisors for the Fashion Show, says that the students are thrilled to be using this classic New York venue, at which the Marc Jacobs Sp17 RTW show was recently held. “The audience can look forward to a thoroughly unique presentation,” she noted.
According to LIM faculty member and Event Director Terance Coffee, “Colors of the World represents the millennial generation and how they navigate the ever-changing environment of today, using color as a continuum. The students in our Fashion Show Production Club have designed this unique runway event to celebrate the diversity and innovation that our world has to offer.”
The Fashion Show Production Club provides students with a hands-on educational experience in planning and producing a professional-level New York City fashion show. Students are responsible for every aspect of the event, ranging from lighting and music to model selection. All clothing and accessories featured in the show will be chosen by students working exclusively in collaboration with New York City showrooms.
For the third consecutive year, Carsten Institute of Cosmetology will partner with LIM College to execute the hair and makeup looks for 40 student models and the LIM College Dance Team, which will open the show.
The Fashion Show is one of the College’s largest events of the year and is produced entirely by students. This year’s host will be LIM student and YouTube star Paige Secosky who has over 200,000 subscribers and 13.8 million channel views, as well as exclusive brand partnerships and collaborations. In past years, over 1,000 guests — including a front row of industry professionals, influencers, and press — have attended the LIM College Fashion Show.
Tickets range from $15 to $65 and are available through March 24. To purchase tickets, go to https://colorsoftheworld.eventbrite.com.
