LIM College Alumna Named CEO of Barneys New York
February 2, 2017
According to The Business of Fashion, LIM College alumna Daniella Vitale (’86) has been named Chief Executive Officer of Barneys New York.
Ms. Vitale joined Barneys in 2010 as Chief Merchant and Executive Vice President. In 2013, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
As the keynote speaker at LIM’s 2014 Commencement ceremony Vitale told graduates that, “LIM allowed us to get dropped into the center of it all in New York… I sold shoes, sold cosmetics at B. Altman, was a dresser for fashion shows, and eventually became an assistant buyer. This helped shape my career and provided a foundation that complemented my education. It also made me realize early on that a strong work ethic, discipline and consistency matter.”
At the Commencement ceremony, Ms. Vitale was also presented with LIM College’s Distinguished Achievement Award and an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree. She returned to LIM again in 2014 to participate in the College’s C-Suite Speaker Series.
