LIM College Awards First Presidential Transfer Scholarship
May 25, 2016
AnnMarie Bocca of Mastic Beach, NY has been announced as the first recipient of LIM College’s Presidential Transfer Scholarship, an exclusive new partnership with Suffolk Community College (SCC).
AnnMarie recently graduated from SCC with an associate degree in retail business management. She will begin her studies towards a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising at LIM this fall.
Applicants for the Presidential Transfer Scholarship were required to have at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA and be eligible to graduate from SCC at the end of the Spring 2016 semester. In addition to academic achievement, selection was also based on demonstration of student leadership, as well as contributions to the college and the communities of Long Island through activities and service.
AnnMarie, who paid her own tuition at SCC, says that she had been looking at four year colleges on Long Island and in New York City, but LIM stood out amidst all the others. Her scholarship will cover all of her tuition costs as a full-time student at LIM for the duration of her studies.
