LIM Makes Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for 2020

Phi Theta KappaLIM College has once again been named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Transfer Honor Roll for 2020. Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges. More than 3.5 million students have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa since 1918.

This year, LIM was one of 123 four-year colleges named to the Transfer Honor Roll, in recognition of their excellence and success in developing pathways to support transfer students from community colleges.

Transfer students make up a significant portion of LIM’s student body. Approxmiately 40% of LIM students transferred in from other colleges and universties. LIM College has been honored on this list since the Transfer Honor Roll's inception in 2016.

Colleges were selected based on their Transfer Friendliness Rating, determined by their profile in PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool that helps students find their best-fit colleges, career pathways, and more. Profiles in PTK connect ask questions about admissions practices, cost of attendance, campus life, recruitment practices, and peer reviews.

“The Transfer Honor Roll reflects the growing importance of recognizing and responding to the needs of transfer students,” Phi Theta Kappa's President and CEO, Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, said. “This award is given to four-year colleges and universities with proven outcomes for transfer success. They are the best at providing a supportive and smooth transition from community college—equating to increased rates of bachelor’s degree attainment for transfer students.”
