LIM Professor Pens Op-ed on Strategic Sourcing

In an opinion piece for the Sourcing Journal Online, a trade publication for apparel and textile executives, LIM College Fashion Merchandising faculty member Andrea Kennedy writes about how today’s strategic sourcing model has tasks being done at the factory which were previously performed in designer sample rooms. The strategic fitting of garments needs to be done close to design to save time and money, she says.

Professor Kennedy will explore the subject further at a presentation on Fashion, Fit, and the Human Body: Technology, Change, and Sustainability at the LIM College: Fashion Now and Then Conference on October 21.

Professor Kennedy is also the founder of Fashiondex.com, an online apparel industry source for fabrics, trims, and services.
