LIM Professor Wins Research Grant
February 26, 2019
A research grant of $1200 has been awarded to Dr. Nicole Kirpalani, Associate Professor in LIM College’s Marketing, Management & Finance department. The research grant competition, sponsored by the Association of National Advertisers Educational Foundation, was conducted in conjunction with Fordham University’s Center for Positive Marketing.
The process was initiated during a February 2019 conference in which industry marketing executives discussed current challenges facing the profession. The next day, academics were tasked with developing research proposals using their newly gained knowledge.
Dr. Kirpalani’s research proposal comes in response to consumers’ growing concerns about digital data privacy and possible misuses of personal information, as well as the erosion of trust toward organizations and the media. Along with researchers Dr. Shanshan Lou of Appalachian State University and Dr. Shashi Matta of Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Dr. Kirpalani plans to examine the linkages between data privacy and consumer-brand relationships and test models that help enhance privacy literacy.
