LIM Students “Take it to the Streets” for Special Fashion Week Magazine
February 14, 2018
For the fourth year in a row, The Daily Front Row’s semi-annual Fashion Week issue features a special 16-page insert produced by a team of talented LIM College students.
The students — all of whom also work on LIM’s student publication The Lexington Line — began work on their “magazine within a magazine” in the fall of 2017. They were responsible for all aspects of the publication—from research and writing to photography and art direction. Working directly under the supervision of The Daily Front Row’s editors, they received invaluable guidance and input as they learned firsthand about the fashion magazine business.
Says Keely Schooley McCormick, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Front Row: LIM College Student Edition, “Fashion has always had a need for speed. And while the runways are still the creative center of the industry, the streets are racing to compete. So we highlighted not only the high-fashion looks we love, but also edgy offerings from some new up-and-comers, including interviewing designer Heron Preston and Dominic Chambrone (aka The Shoe Surgeon).”
The fruit of the students’ labors will be seen by a broad range of key fashion influencers, including designers, editors, bloggers, and buyers.
Copies of the The Daily Front Row are available in the LIM College Writing Center.
