LIM STUDENTS EXAMINE THE ROLE OF INFLUENCERS FOR FASHION WEEK MAGAZINE
February 19, 2019
For the fifth consecutive year, The Daily Front Row’s semi-annual Fashion Week issue features a special 16-page insert produced by a team of talented LIM College students.
The students—all of whom also work on LIM’s student publication The Lexington Line—began work on their “magazine within a magazine” in the fall of 2018. They were responsible for all aspects of the publication—from research and writing to photography and art direction. Working directly under the supervision of The Daily Front Row’s editors, they received invaluable guidance and input as they learned firsthand about the fashion magazine business.
The insert features an interview with LIM College alumna Alyssa Coscarelli, a NYC fashion influencer and writer who previously worked as the Senior Fashion Market Editor at Refinery 29.
Says Sabrina Talbert, Editor-in-Chief of this year’s The Daily Front Row: LIM College Student Edition, “In previous editions of this insert, we’ve strived to define the roles of an influencer. As fashion and media continue to work as a dynamic duo, influencers are breaking the boundaries that come with the label.”
Distributed at Fashion Week events, the students’ work will be seen by a broad range of key fashion influencers, including designers, editors, bloggers, and buyers. Copies of the The Daily Front Row are also available in the LIM College Writing Center.
