LIM Study Cited in New York Magazine

The LIM College study, “Shopping Trends Among 18 to 35 Year-Olds” was recently cited in an article on New York magazine’s The Cut website.

The article summarized a panel discussion on vintage fashion between fashion icon Iris Apfel, designer Norma Kamali, and Lord & Taylor’s former fashion director Stephanie Solomon at the Vintage@Intermezzo fair.

According to the LIM study by professors Kenneth Kambara and Robert Conrad, 62 percent of millennials consider the uniqueness or the “newness” of a product to be the most compelling reason to buy. The panelists agreed that “newness” means that the look and feel of the piece has to be different, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be brand-new.
