Marcus Stewart to Host LIM Student Fashion Show

LIM College’s 74th annual Fashion Show, titled "Art Meets Fashion," will be held at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86 (West 46th St. & 12th Ave.) in Manhattan on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

The host of this year’s show will be fashion stylist, model, journalist and style expert Marcus Stewart, aka “The Fashion Doctor.” A true Renaissance man, Marcus currently balances his image consulting business with an ongoing stint as the East Coast Style Reporter for Celebrity Page TV. Previously, he appeared on the Bravo reality TV show Dukes of Melrose.

“Art Meets Fashion” will explore the dynamic, historic interplay between art and fashion, referencing and borrowing from artistic styles while simultaneously envisioning a new code of dress. The event will feature more than 40 models, representing LIM’s diverse student body. The LIM College Dance Team will open the show with a special performance.

The Fashion Show Production Club provides LIM students with a hands-on educational experience in planning and producing a professional-level New York City fashion show. Students are responsible for every aspect of the event, ranging from lighting and music to model selection, making the stakes of creating a memorable show feel as high as producing one for New York Fashion Week.

All clothing and accessories featured in the show will be chosen by students working in collaboration with New York City showrooms.

In previous years, over 1,000 guests — including a front row of industry professionals, influencers, and press — have attended the LIM College Fashion Show.
