New Photo Studio Now Open in Maxwell Hall

LIM students working on styling and photography projects now have access to a new on-campus photo studio. The studio, located on the first floor of Maxwell Hall, is equipped with a digital Canon EOS Rebel T51 camera, professional lighting, and backdrops.

According to John Deming, Director of the Writing Center, “With the substantial amount of work being done by editors of The Lexington Line, combined with the fact that LIM is launching a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Media this fall, the studio will be put to great use.”

Creating a photo studio was also a priority for Laurel Lueders, Chair of the Visual Merchandising department. She said that the studio was created, “both to meet student requests for such a facility, as well as to have the needed resources to develop and expand photography and new media components in the Visual Merchandising curriculum.”

The photo studio is open five days a week, but it is available by appointment only. Students must be trained on the studio’s equipment before they can use the space.
