PRESIDENTIAL TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT ANNOUNCED
June 11, 2019
Carla Stivala from Sag Harbor, New York has been announced as this year's LIM College New York State Presidential Transfer Scholarship (NYSPTS) recipient.
LIM College partners in this program with Suffolk Community College (SCCC) to create a transfer pathway that rewards and supports students seeking to immerse themselves in New York City's educational environment and focus on the business of fashion.
Carla is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society who studied Business Administration at SCCC, earning a 3.90 GPA. This fall, she will begin her studies toward a bachelor’s degree at LIM. As an LIM student, Carla hopes to join the Fashion Show Production Club as well as the Corporate Social Responsibility Club.
"When choosing a school, it wasn’t just about what the school has to offer me, but what I have to offer the school," said Carla. "Thanks to the size of LIM College, I realized this is the perfect opportunity for me to finally shine in my own way."
"LIM College already feels like home," Carla added. "Being bilingual, it is critical to find the right major for me, and that is why I chose LIM College to pursue my dreams in International Business."
Applicants for the NYSPTS must meet academic requirements and demonstrate a commitment to their communities outside the classroom. This goal of this scholarship program is to allow recipients to continue their momentum at LIM, while gaining valuable skills and experience in fashion and its related fields.
