Provost’s Seminar: Pandemic and Protest

Provost’s Seminar - Pandemic and ProtestOn November 5, LIM will launch an exciting new course as part of the College's recently formed Department of Interdisciplinary Studies: Provost’s Seminar: Pandemic and Protest. This weekly seminar will allow students to explore current societal issues and engage in lively discussion, while earning academic credit.

Featuring a roster of fascinating guest contributors, the course will be taught by LIM Provost Lisa Springer. Topics will include: creating community through social media during the pandemic; personal journeys of committing to anti-racism; the creation of the "sports bubble" and the social justice movement in sports; activism for intersecting identities through fashion; and much more.

Scheduled guest speakers for this course currently include:

  • Kori Davis Porter, Senior VP of Content and Business Operations, NBA
  • Steve Michaud, Senior Producer and Director of Production, NBA
  • Narda Alcorn, Chair, Stage Management Department at Yale School of Drama
  • Rob Smith, CEO of the Phluid Project
  • Emme, Supermodel and Life Coach

Each installment of this course takes place take place via Zoom on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., and it is open to students in all programs and modalities.
