ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Elleyse Gemondo (Online MPS ’18)

Why did you decide to earn your master’s degree online instead of on campus?
Attending LIM College Online gave me the best of both worlds. I was able to continue learning and progressing in my job—I’m a Merchandising Assistant at Gabe’s Headquarters in Morgantown, West Virginia—while also working towards an advanced degree. I love my job and I’m trying to work my way up the ladder to achieve my dream of becoming a buyer.

What school did you get your bachelor’s degree from?
I graduated with cum laude honors from West Virginia University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design.

Why did you choose LIM College for your master’s degree?
I wanted a school that was based on the business side of fashion rather than design. I also wanted a school located in New York City. After visiting LIM College’s campus, I knew it was the perfect choice for me—and I could not have been more right.

How has your master’s degree helped you in your career?
The Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management program taught me so much about the buying world. Having a master’s degree enhances my fashion skills and allows me to be even more aware of what’s going on in the industry. Eventually, I’d also like to earn a Ph.D. and become a professor.
