The Underfashion Club Awards Scholarships to Three LIM College Students
February 3, 2015
Ali Petherbridge received a $5,000 scholarship and Alexis Archer and Jillian Guaragna received awards of $1,000 each at The Underfashion Club’s annual Femmy Awards Gala on February 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street.
The Femmy Gala, a premier event in the intimate apparel industry, recognizes and celebrates the achievements of intimate apparel industry leaders and companies worldwide. This year’s Gala was hosted by Vivica A. Fox and honorees included Victoria’s Secret Executive Vice President of Design Kristin Kramer, Nordstrom.com, and Macy’s Merchandising Group. Proceeds from the Femmy Gala are distributed to deserving students who pursue college–level intimate apparel related courses.
Ali is the 2015 recipient of the Mary Kraug Memorial Scholarship. Mary was Vice President and Division Merchandise Manager for Neiman Marcus Stores. After she passed away in 2013, a group of industry executives established a scholarship in her memory for students of Fashion Merchandising. Ali’s career goal is to become a buyer for a lingerie or intimates brand.
The Underfashion Club is a not–for–profit, intimate apparel industry organization dedicated to education. The Underfashion Club supports new talent with scholarships and internships and offers seminars, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to industry professionals.
