LIM Makes Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for 2020

Phi Theta KappaLIM College has once again been named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Transfer Honor Roll for 2020. Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges. More than 3.5 million students have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa since 1918.

What was your educational experience before transferring to LIM?
I’m from Northern Virginia, about 16 miles from Washington, D.C. I earned my Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Management from Northern Virginia Community College.

PRESIDENTIAL TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT ANNOUNCED

Carla Stivala with President Liz MarcuseCarla Stivala from Sag Harbor, New York has been announced as this year's LIM College New York State Presidential Transfer Scholarship (NYSPTS) recipient.

LIM College partners in this program with Suffolk Community College (SCCC) to create a transfer pathway that rewards and supports students seeking to immerse themselves in New York City's educational environment and focus on the business of fashion.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Gabriella Gomez ’18

Westchester Community CollegeGabriella transferred to LIM after attending Westchester Community College. She received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2018 and now works as a Location Planning Analyst for Ross Stores.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Felica Zikria ’18

Felica ZikriaFelica is originally from South Brunswick, New Jersey. She transferred to LIM after attending Middlesex County Community College and completed her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2018. Felica now works in the digital e-business department for LVMH Group, Christian Dior Parfums.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Jennifer Forman ’17

Jennifer FormanJennifer, who is from Valley Stream, NY, transferred into LIM after receiving an associate degree in Fashion Merchandising from Nassau County Community College. She received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2017 and currently works as a Digital Merchandise Assistant at Macy’s corporate offices in midtown Manhattan.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Claire Kano ’18

Claire KanoClaire is originally from Japan. After finishing high school, she moved to the U.S. to attend Herkimer County Community College, where she received an associate degree. She then transferred to LIM and completed her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2018. Claire now works for the upscale womenswear brand Sea New York, after interning there as an LIM student.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Christian Nazario ‘17

Christian NazarioChristian, who is originally from Princeton, NJ, transferred into LIM after attending Mercer County Community College. He’s now a Retail Development Assistant for Earthbound Brands, an agency that provides design, product development, and brand management services for clients such as Walmart, Ford, Honda, and The Pioneer Woman.

Transfer Alumni Spotlight: Emily Bliss ’16

Emily BlissEmily, who is originally from Long Island, NY, transferred into LIM after attending Suffolk County Community College. She received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2016 and used connections from an LIM internship to get a job at NYLON Magazine after graduation. She’s now a Digital Merchandise Assistant in Macy’s men’s shoe department.
