What made you choose LIM as the next step in your education, and what was the transfer process like?

I transferred to LIM from Penn State. I chose LIM as my next step because I knew I was ready to pursue my fashion career journey. The transfer application was easy—I didn't end up needing much support in the process, but the school was diligent about making sure I knew I could ask for it!

What did you like best about your major?

As a Fashion Merchandising major, I really enjoyed the flow of my curriculum. I took classes in fashion history, retail math, textiles, and many other fascinating courses for a deeper understanding of all areas in the major.

What internships did you complete as an LIM student?

I am beyond grateful for the multiple internships I completed during my time at LIM: Hermès as a PR Intern; Marie Claire as a Fashion Intern; Barneys New York as a Buying Intern; Jimmy Choo as a Wholesale Intern; BCBG Max Azria as a Public Relations Intern; and ELLE Magazine as a Fashion Intern. All these experiences shaped me into the professional I am today. I learned about each department for a deeper understanding of their purposes.

Please tell us about your role at Moda Operandi, Inc.

I currently work at the fashion office of Moda Operandi. I work on new brand scouting and liaise between marketing and the merchandising teams. It is the job I always dreamed of having!

In what ways did LIM enable you get this job or prepare you for the work you're doing?

My fashion merchandising background from LIM enabled me to get this job. My understanding of how merchandising and marketing affect the business came directly from my coursework and my internships out in the field.
