Intro Title
LIM alumna brings a unique—and uniquely valuable—perspective.

Gail Nardin, a member of the Class of 1971, has been named to LIM College’s Board of Directors.

After earning her degree from LIM, Gail enjoyed a long and successful career in the fashion industry. Starting out in A&S’s Executive Training Program, she went on to become a Corporate Buyer for May Department Stores and eventually advanced to a position as Vice President of Development and Production for Energie Sportswear.

In 2005, Gail returned to LIM College as a member of the Institutional Advancement team. Ultimately, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of External Relations and Alumni Affairs, a position she retired from at the end of 2022.

This marks the first time in LIM College history that a former employee has been named to the Board of Directors. Gail also currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the LIM Fashion Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for scholarships and educational enhancements for LIM students.

During Gail’s time as an LIM administrator, she developed several key programs to connect students, industry partners, and alumni. She was instrumental in forming partnerships with professional organizations such as Decoded Fashion, the Accessories Council, the Underfashion Club, and BRAG (formerly known as the Black Retail Action Group). These and other collaborations have provided countless LIM students with invaluable experience-based learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

Gail also re-energized LIM College’s Alumni Association, building a platform for the College’s approximately 10,000 graduates to network, reconnect with classmates, engage with current students, and enhance their professional skills.

Said Elizabeth S. Marcuse, President of LIM College, “Gail Nardin’s passion for LIM College’s mission, vision, and core values is unparalleled. Time and time again, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to our students, her fellow alumni, and her colleagues. In her new role as a member of our Board of Directors, Gail will bring a unique – and uniquely valuable – perspective to the table. Current and future students will reap the benefits of her deep industry expertise, firsthand knowledge of our day-to-day operations, and tireless dedication. Gail’s contributions are sure to play a vital role in setting LIM’s course forward and advancing our work to make students’ career dreams come true.”
