Intro Title
Five LIM College students have been awarded scholarships from Licensing International, which is a leading organization in the multi-billion-dollar worldwide brand licensing industry.

Licensing International’s Scholarship program grants awards to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in brand licensing and are pursuing degrees in business, e-commerce, marketing, design, engineering, entrepreneurial studies, and other fields related to brand licensing. Applicants are required to have a 3.2 GPA, write a 600-word essay, and submit two letters of recommendation. The Licensing International Scholarship Committee selects recipients based on factors that include academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, and work experience. Top candidates are interviewed before final winners are chosen.

LIM College students earned 5 of the 9 scholarships awarded this year. Those winners are:

  • Evelynn Chang - $10,000
  • Nirahja Logan - $10,000
  • Carol Oviedo Gonzalez - $10,000
  • Laura Romero – (Fanatics Scholarship) $15,000
  • Claudia Ruiz - $10,000

“Receiving the Licensing International Scholarship is an incredible honor and blessing, and I am sincerely grateful for this recognition,” said Laura Romero, who is currently enrolled in LIM’s master’s degree program in Fashion Marketing

Scholarship recipients are also given the chance to gain additional hands-on experience, as they are given a complimentary one-year membership in Licensing International where they are treated like the “organization’s ambassadors.” With this, students have multiple ways of participating in the organization, including being a committee member, writing articles for publications, and serving as event volunteers.

“The support and encouragement from LIM College and the Licensing International community have been invaluable, and I am eager to continue making the most of the opportunities this scholarship has opened up for me,” Romero concluded.

Applications for next year’s scholarships are open until October 13, 2023. More details are available here.
