Applicants may apply directly to our bachelor’s (four-year) degree programs. (LIM College does NOT require you to initially apply for an associate (two-year) degree, and then re-apply to a bachelor’s degree program.)
At LIM College, our hands-on education programs immerse you into the fashion world from day one. You gain skills and knowledge to build a resume that sets you apart while learning the ins and outs of the business of fashion. And by living and studying in New York City, you experience the opportunities and industry connections needed to build a successful fashion career.
Freshmen applicants are currently in high school or have never enrolled in a college or university. If you’re currently enrolled in college credits through a high school or dual-enrollment program, you should apply as a freshman.
LIM College accepts applications on a rolling basis, and you can apply up to the beginning of the Fall or Spring semester until all openings are filled. We strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible as class sizes are limited. Submit your application materials to Undergraduate Admissions. You will be notified of our admissions decision within two to four weeks.
We invite incoming first-time freshman to apply for 2018 Early Action admission. Early Action is designed for students who demonstrate a sincere interest in LIM College and the fashion industry.
Applicants for Early Action must complete an Admissions Counseling Session. During this informational interview, students and their families will meet privately with an admissions counselor to discuss the benefits of an LIM College education, internship opportunities, and if LIM is the best “college fit” for the student. This session will address the specific needs and questions of individual students directly, mirroring the personal attention students receive during their time at LIM College. Early Action is a non-binding commitment.
In a 300-500 word essay, please describe the most significant experience, accomplishment, risk you have taken, moral dilemma or personal triumph you have faced and its impact on you.
To be considered for admissions, you must submit an online application along with a $40 non-refundable application fee or approved fee waiver. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for regular admissions.
Letter of Recommendation
Applicants are required to submit one letter of recommendation from academic or work-related references. The letter of recommendation should demonstrate insight into your teamwork, leadership, communication, intellectual and interpersonal skills and abilities; as well as your level of maturity, strengths and weaknesses.
Provide recommender with a stamped envelope pre-addressed to:
12 East 53rd St.
New York, NY 10022
Official transcripts should be submitted from all high schools and/or colleges attended.
The activity sheet gives us a deeper understanding of your work and volunteer experiences, extracurricular activities and awards and achievements. It is not required for admissions consideration, but we strongly encourage you to submit the form with your application.
LIM College may require an on-campus interview for applicants. If so, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule the interview. Students who desire an on-campus interview to supplement their application can request by email or call (800) 677-1323 ext. 289.
