Hilda Alfonso has taught at LIM College since 2009, starting as an adjunct faculty member and becoming a full-time faculty member in 2014. In 2019, she was promoted to Senior Lecturer. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Hilda coordinates LIM’s First Year Experience classes.

In 2015, she was part of an LIM team that received a grant from Cotton Incorporated that supported student scholarships. In 2023, Hilda received the Adrian G. Marcuse Award for Teaching Excellence.

Most of Hilda’s professional experience in the fashion industry centered around the production of textiles. Most recently, she was a Sales Manager for Ulster Weavers, which specialized in linen and wool production for a host of U.S. brands. She has also have been a Production Manager for E.S. Sutton, Inc. (Kmart Private Label & Target) and a Production Coordinator for Bentex Group, a company which coordinates licensed apparel for brands including Sesame Street, Disney, and Peanuts.
