How do LIM students find internships, Senior Co-ops, and jobs?
Handshake is the #1 way college students find jobs. This online career management platform is built just for you with personalized content from your school, industry experts, and over 1M companies. As an LIM student or alum, you will receive your own Handshake account at the start of your first semester at LIM.
*If you are an LIM alumni and do not have a Handshake account, you can email careers@limcollege.edu for assistance with accessing a new account.
Are internships only in NYC?
Internships can be completed within or outside of the NYC area! The format of the internship will likely depend on the employer’s needs. When applying for positions, read through the job description to determine where the opportunity is located and the modality. In 2024, LIM students interned in 29 U.S. states, 1 U.S territory, 1 district of Columbia and 7 different countries, with many internships completely remotely or in a hybrid in-person/remote format.
Does LIM guarantee students will get internships or jobs?
The Office of Career and Internship Services provides students and alumni with tools, resources, coaching, and support to empower them in conducting an effective internship and job search, but can not guarantee employment, salary level, or career advancement. Actual career outcomes vary based on different factors, including work experiences, geographic location, and other factors specific to the individual.
