About

From 1994 to 2008, Yves Cloarec created and ran a computer consulting and database management software design company called NextWave Office Systems. Prior to 1994, he worked as a translator and interpreter for various governmental and non-governmental international agencies on both sides of the Atlantic and for the French government in their Tourism and Economic Development Departments.

Yves currently has two books in publication, Inside My Own Skin and My Husband Is Worse than a Madman: He’s a Man. He is also the recipient of The Queens College President's Prize for Teaching Excellence.

In the belief that translation can be a stopgap to the extinction of a language and the culture its expresses, Yves has been studying Breton—the threatened language of his Celtic ancestors—with an eye to finding and translating some endangered texts. He is currently collating a collection of Breton poetry from the sixth to tenth centuries.
