Where to Eat Near the FOUND Study Residence Hall

Planning to live in the newly renovated FOUND Study - Midtown East building this fall? While the building has a spacious communal kitchen for you and your fellow residents to cook in, sometimes you’ll want to go out to eat. (I mean, this is New York City after all.) You’ll surely have a lot on your nonfood plate as an LIM student, so sometimes you don’t have time to cook. No worries because there are great (and healthy) food spots that do pick-up, dine-in, or both!

The Little Beat
135 W 50th St, New York, NY 10020

This healthy food joint has a ton of options from falafel to poke bowls. You can either pick one of their bowls from the menu starting at about $13 or you can build your own with grains, veggies and other delicious toppings. Little Beat has vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten free, and more! This location also offers pick up and it’s only a 13-minute walk across East 51st street to West 51st.

DIG|
150 E 52nd St, New York, NY 10022

If you want to grab a healthy bite close by DIG is the spot for you. It’s only a 2-minute walk around the corner from the FOUND building, and they do pickup. This restaurant has a variety of healthy food options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers. If you like chicken and spice, I recommend the Hot Honey Chicken Bowl!

Urbanspace
General Electric Building, 570 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10022

This is one of my favorite spots to eat around LIM’s buildings. It’s right by Grand Central Station between Maxwell and 5th Ave buildings. Urbanspace has all different kinds of food and tons of seating. This restaurant collective includes 9 mini restaurants from Bao by Kaya to Playa Bowls. I recommend Takumi Taco—they have great burritos!

Frida Midtown
214 E 52nd St, New York, NY 10022

If you need a cute place to get dinner with your roommates, Frida is a great choice. This adorable restaurant offers some amazing Mexican-Peruvian cuisine and ambiance for a night out! Split some Tijuana Style tacos with your friends and don’t forget the Dulce De Leche Cheesecake—delicious!

Uncle Paul's Pizza NY
70 Vanderbilt Ave, New York, NY 10017

Last but certainly not least … you’ll need a pizza spot—again, this is New York! Thankfully Uncle Paul’s Pizza is only an 8-minute walk away. They have all the classic pizzas like white, pepperoni, and margarita. Uncle Paul’s also has some gluten free options and slices perfect for vegetarians!
