What made you choose LIM College to pursue your master’s degree online in Fashion Marketing?
As someone who works full-time, I wanted to continue my studies in a way that offered flexibility. Upon learning about LIM College's online accelerated one-year program in Fashion Marketing, I knew it was worth looking into! It was evident to me that choosing LIM meant I could work at my own pace and in a way that wasn’t extremely time consuming.

What are you learning in your program?
Through assignments and interactive projects, I get to dive into the strategies of successful brands, while having thought-provoking conversations with my peers that present new perspectives. I have been diving into digital marketing strategies and how that differs across platforms, with a particular focus on strategies that aid luxury brands. I've been learning about consumer buying habits and how to reach consumers where they’re at, "pygital" retailing (how companies blend in-person experiences with digital technology to create seamless and interactive customer journeys), and how to use the latest data analyzing software.

What is the online academic experience at LIM like?
It has been better than I could have imagined. I have always been an in-person learner. After speaking to LIM's Graduate Admissions Counselor, I was assured I could still enjoy features like vivid visuals and hands-on experiences while being online. She was right! As an online student, I'm still giving presentations, creating group projects, and being part of engaging discussions every week. I’ve been able to build a community with my peers more than I had when I attended in-person classes at my previous institutions.

Having taken undergraduate courses at FIT, what's different about LIM academically?
I studied Fashion Business Management at FIT and developed a base understanding of different departments across fashion. At LIM, I've been able to dive deeper into specifically the Marketing piece; this includes all its subcategories, like digital marketing, luxury marketing, social media marketing, and how to market sustainably. It's been so nice to combine my learnings from both schools as I'm moving forward in my academics!

In what ways is LIM helping you work toward your professional goals?
My LIM experience has provided me with extensive knowledge and industry exposure. It's been great to have access to industry professionals for feedback and advice.

The required internship for my program also gives me the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to real-world scenarios. I have the autonomy to choose the internship that calls to me. I'm in the process of finding an internship now and wasn't sure where to start my search at first; but, LIM's Handshake platform makes it easy to sort through the seemingly infinite internship opportunities, making the experience less daunting.

Have you found ways to involve yourself in Student Life as an online student?
Yes! I've able to partake in the extracurriculars LIM offers. This past semester, I had opportunity to be one of the Marketing Coordinators of the College's Sustainability Club, where we plan campus events and send out newsletters. I was also able to attend the Virtual Career Fair, where I talked one-on-one with representatives from companies like Ross and The Fashion Index.
