Starting college is a scary time for many students. We ponder what we will experience, what friends—if any—we will make, and what events we will be able to participate in. When I was a senior in high school, I knew New York City is where I belonged, and after attending Accepted Students Day, I became convinced that LIM was the place for me. Below are things that I wish I knew my first semester at LIM College, because of course, everything turned out alright!
"I originally thought I wanted to be a stylist to the stars. My internship experiences led me to switch gears to entertainment."
"My advanced buying and planning course required me to plan an entire season of product for a retailer, exactly like a planner does in real life. Being able to show my plans on interviews allowed me to stand out from other candidates."
"All the classes I took at LIM helped me both in the fashion and HR realms."
"I had grown tired of traditional marketing gimmicks and wanted to make a change that would save customers time and money."
"Interning prepared me to network in the industry, learn first-hand about day-to-day responsibilities, and get a better understanding of what I wanted to do after graduation."
Daniella’s Senior Co-op internship enabled her to secure her first full-time job before she had even graduated. She's now an Assistant Buyer at Tommy Hilfiger.
"Through internships, I grew really interested in e-commerce. I liked working with computer systems and saw a big career opportunity."
