John Deming started teaching at LIM College in 2008 after working as a newspaper reporter for Atlantic News and The Telegraph in New Hampshire. He served as Editor in Chief of Coldfront magazine from 2008 - 2018 and as LIM's Writing Center Director from 2014 – 2022. John published his first poetry book, Headline News, in 2018.

He is advisor to the college's student fashion/culture magazine, The Lexington Line, which he created with a group of students in 2014. Shortly afterwards, he co-created the B.S. in Fashion Media degree program.

Professor Deming won LIM’s Club Advisor of the Year award in 2016 and the Adrian G. Marcuse Award for Teaching Excellence in 2022. He currently manages the college's photo studio, and his writing has appeared in Salon, Boston Review, New Orleans Review, Fence, Critical Studies in Men's Fashion, and other publications.
