LIM at the CWCB Expo

LIM is among the nation’s first accredited colleges to launch undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the Business of Cannabis (BOC). The program will launch this fall with amazing faculty who are highly experienced and involved in the cannabis industry. Recently, representatives from LIM’s cannabis program took part in the CWCB Expo at the Javits Center in New York.

Chair of Business and Associate Professor Michael Londrigan, Academic Director, Business of Cannabis Michael Zaytsev (a.k.a. Mike Z), and Associate Director of Graduate Admissions and Advising George Toledo staffed the “LIM booth” in the Expo’s college pavilion.

Mike Z said of participating in the event, "It was great seeing how much excitement people had around our new programs. People were impressed to see the leaders in our Cannabis faculty. Employers were asking how soon they could get LIM interns. Overall, there was nothing but enthusiasm about what we're offering."

Faculty member Beryl Solomon, Founder of Poplar, was also at the event promoting her health and wellness brand! When I spoke to her about LIM’s academic program in the BOC, Ms. Solomon said, “The opportunity to learn the facts about the cannabis plant and about the business of cannabis in a safe educational environment will be unrivaled.”

This event included booths for business owners, educators, marketers and more, with a focus on women-led and LGBTQIA-focused businesses. There also were great speakers, including NYC Mayor Eric Adams! Attendees could meet people in the cannabis industry, develop connections and learn about social equity, sustainability, and how to become successful in the cannabis industry.

Professor Londrigan noted, “I enjoy talking about LIM College and what we are doing, and having a venue like this show allows us to spread the word about our programs and garner support from other industry professionals.”
