2020 GRADUATION INFO. & TICKETS
Commencement information and tickets are sent via LIM College email only. Please check your LIM College email account for updates on the Commencement ceremony and ticket information. Please have your tickets secured before making any travel arrangements for family or friends.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To be able to graduate, all students must complete a Graduation Audit by April 1, 2020. Graduation Audit applications are sent to the LIM College email account of eligible* students by the Office of the Registrar. January 2020 grads will receive their Graduation Audit applications in Fall 2019. May and August 2020 grads will receive their Graduation Audit applications in Spring 2020.
The conferral of your degree is a two-step process. It begins with you receiving your diploma cover on stage and ends with your degree being officially conferred by the President at the end of the ceremony. Therefore, all graduates must remain in the auditorium until the conclusion of the ceremony to be officially declared as an LIM graduate.
The 2020 Commencement Guide will be available in Spring 2020.
*Be sure to schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor or the Office of Graduate Studies to determine your eligibility to graduate.

2019 Commencement Keynote Speaker
Lauren C. Anderson
Global Ambassador, Vital Voices Global Partnership
In addition to keynoting LIM College’s 80th Commencement ceremony, Lauren C. Anderson will receive the College’s Distinguished Achievement Award as well as an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in recognition of her contributions to global gender equality.
Ms. Anderson was one of the first women on an FBI SWAT team and the first woman to lead the FBI’s office in Paris. She went on to direct all international terrorism investigations of the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force, overseeing the disruption of terrorist plots around the world. Ms. Anderson now works with women leaders and young people throughout the globe to prevent conflict and advocate for social justice. As a Global Ambassador with Vital Voices Global Partnership, she mentors women in Egypt, Somalia, Gaza, India, and the Philippines. She also works with non-profit organizations that advocate for women and youth in areas that include diversity, criminal justice reform, and personal safety.
A graduate of Muhlenberg College, Ms. Anderson was the featured speaker at LIM’s annual Women’s History Month breakfast in March of 2018.

The Commencement ceremony will be held at David Geffen Hall - Lincoln Center.
David Geffen Hall - Lincoln Center is located at 65th Street and Broadway in Manhattan.

From Grand Central Station: Take the S or 7 train west to Times Square-42nd Street. Then transfer to the uptown 1 local train to 66th Street / Lincoln Center Station. From Penn Station: Take the uptown 1 local train to 66th Street / Lincoln Center Station.

The M5, M7, M10, M11, M66 and M104 bus lines all stop within one block of Lincoln Center.

CAPS & GOWNS
You must wear a cap and gown to participate in Commencement. LIM College is pleased to provide FREE caps and gowns for all graduating students (choose "Cap & Gown" from the menu at the top of the page, then GRADUATION REGALIA when ordering). You must place your order online by April 1, 2020. Your cap and gown (and hood, if applicable) will be shipped directly to you.
Tickets
Tickets for admission to the Commencement exercises are limited to guests of graduates in the academic procession. Each graduate receives two complimentary tickets. All complimentary tickets will be distributed in the Office of Student Life, dates TBD. Students must pick up complimentary tickets from the Office of Student Life during these dates.

Please be advised that last year, tickets sold out, so please make sure to secure your tickets BEFORE making travel arrangements for friends and family members. Every individual, including infants, requires a ticket to enter the venue. Graduating students do NOT need a ticket for themselves.
COMMEMORATIVE PURCHASES
Information regarding class rings and graduation announcements are available through the bookstore. These services are provided through Balfour.
Diploma frames are now also available from the bookstore.
COMMENCEMENT FLOWERS & COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTS
You can purchase a bouquet of flowers and/or a commemorative t-shirt in celebration of your special day. Flowers and t-shirts can be pre-ordered online and picked up the day of graduation through Commencement Flowers.
GRADUATION PORTRAITS

Helpful Hints:
- Long sleeves and solid colors look best.
- Check your nails as your hands will show in several poses.
- Apply concealer or powder to minimize blemishes and shine.
- Style your hair comfortably and cut it one week prior to your photo.
- Bring a comb or brush.
- Men should bring a shirt, jacket and tie.
- Cap and gown will be provided for the photo.
Visit Thornton Studio to schedule your portrait sitting at school and enter School Code 07466 or call (800) 883-9449 during normal business hours. The sitting is $12 and you can view your proofs online.
PARKING
Lincoln Center Parking Garage (self parking)
Amsterdam at West 64th Street
Enter the garage on Amsterdam Avenue at West 64th Street (right driveway entrance) and scan the barcode from your phone or printed order confirmation. Take your ticket from the automated ticket machine and park your car; upon leaving you will use this ticket to exit the garage.
Time Warner Center Parking Garage (valet parking)
Broadway at West 60th Street
Enter on 60th Street between 8th & 9th Avenue. When entering the garage inform the attendant that you have made a reservation already. The attendant will issue a stamped ticket indicating the pre-paid reservation which you will give to the cashier when picking up your car. Make sure to have your order number and the name the reservation was made under when you arrive.

INTERNATIONAL VISA REQUEST
International guests who plan to attend the Commencement ceremony may need to apply for a U.S. Visitor Visa (B-2).
View the U.S. visa policy for Information about applying for a visa through the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where the visa application will be made. Applications will need to show that the visit to the U.S. is temporary, that there are adequate finances to cover the trip and that they intend to return to their home country (proof of ties such as a job, family, property or other commitments).
Students may need to send supporting evidence to their guest(s). To obtain an invitation letter, please schedule an appointment with the Office of International Student Services.
