Visual Merchandising Students Create Japanese-Themed Display for the National Stationery Show
1,600 square-foot exhibition featured paper fashions and 16-foot origami dragon
For the seventh consecutive year, the work of LIM College Visual Merchandising students was prominently displayed at the National Stationery Show (NSS).
The NSS was held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan from May 19-21, 2013. In response to a request from George Little Management (GLM), the producers of the National Stationery Show, Visual Merchandising students and faculty worked together to create a 1,600 square-foot exhibition space for the show’s Best New Product display.
Paper was the medium for creation of the colorful, lively exhibit, which included a 16-foot origami dragon, origami cherry blossoms, and paper fashions inspired by Japanese Harajuku street style. In addition to the valuable hands-on experience they acquired, each participant also received a $100 stipend.
