Intro Title
On September 23, LIM College was the site of an event called United Voices of Peace & Climate Action, which consisted of panel discussions on issues such as sustainability, social justice, global health, and more.

The day was co-hosted by PeaceDay 365, a United Nations (U.N.) initiative bringing together NGOs, corporations, schools, and U.N. representatives to raise awareness around the organization’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global citizenship education.

Dr. Gayathri Banavara (right), a professor in LIM's Marketing, Management, and Finance department, and a member of PeaceDay 365's advisory board, participated in a panel titled “Shaping the Narrative: Media & Entertainment, Fashion, Immersive Experiences, and Social Influence.”

The day's other panels included:

  • Climate Justice: Leadership, Protest, and Political Will
  • Women, Technology, and Culture Change: Ending Violence and Discrimination
  • Building Peace, Building Justice for All
  • Health, Economic, and Social Inclusion

Last year at this time, LIM joined the U.N. Global Compact's Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative, symbolizing the College’s commitment to achieving the SDGs through education, promoting corporate responsibility, and training future leaders in the fashion and related industries.
