On October 17, two groups of LIM students will have their work showcased at the Interfilière New York workshop and trade show at Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Students from LIM’s Exhibition and Set Design class will build an environment they’ve designed for the show’s SWIM x SPORT x INNOVATION hub. The display area will demonstrate the technical enhancements and sustainable construction of the featured products, allowing attendees to explore fabric samples and prototypes. The participating students presented their proposal to Interfilière representatives in class on September 25 (see photo)—they received positive feedback and finalized construction specifics.

Also at the upcoming event, students from the College's Applied Sustainable Practices in Fashion course will deliver an hourlong presentation titled Steps and Solutions to Sustainability. In addition to leading a panel discussion on these topics, students—all Sustainability minors at LIM—will present their research into sustainable materials, efficient packaging, customer education, and practical steps fashion companies can take now with long-term effects.

Interfilière New York takes place October 16-17. Register here.
