Students Pitch Brand Partnerships

Fashion Forward finalists compete for job shadow opportunities, resume reviews, and more with Authentic Brands Group.

On August 11, LIM’s Office of Career and Internship Services office hosted the Summer 2021 edition of the Fashion Forward LIVE finals, in partnership with Authentic Brands Group (ABG).

Fashion Forward is a triannual program that creates networking and career opportunities for LIM students through a weekslong, project-based internship experience.

This summer, teams of Fashion Forward participants were tasked with developing and presenting a cohesive, innovative collaboration based on an ABG brand. ABG’s client roster includes well-known names such as Juicy Couture, Jones New York, Volcom, and Nautica.

For the finals, teams were selected by industry judges to present to Nick Woodhouse, who is ABG’s President & Chief Marketing Officer and an LIM Fashion Industry Advisory Board member.

The student teams presented their concepts with slides that demonstrated the vast marketing and brand research they had done. After each presentation, Mr. Woodhouse provided feedback on all aspects of the proposal.

The winning team earned an immersive job shadow opportunity that will include 1:1 informational interviews and group resume review sessions with ABG’s HR department.

The top-finishing groups were as follows:

  • First place: Tretorn x Naomi Osaka - Chanel Hernandez, Taylor Nash, and Temilola Oluwo
  • Second place: Shaquille O’Neal x Ben & Jerry’s – Shelby Adkinson, Karina Galvis, Kelsey Mitchell, Kyle Maisano, and Cecilya Smart.
  • Third place: Volcom x Juneshine Hard Kombucha - Caitlin Lyons, Kevin Dooley, and Victoria Kufo
