LIM Senior Helps Create Bloomingdale’s Holiday Windows

LIM College senior Sara Ramos had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of helping to create the famed holiday window displays at Bloomingdale’s New York City flagship store this holiday season.

On the recommendation of Visual Merchandising adjunct faculty member Christine Belich, Sara worked with Bloomingdale’s Director of Window Design on this year’s holiday window displays, “Greatest Holiday Windows,” which featured over 1000 champagne glasses and 7 million Swarovski crystals held by invisible hanging wire.

Sara said, “I was mainly in one window where I was responsible for hanging over 500 Swarovski crystals.  It was an amazing experience. I worked closely with the Bloomingdale’s team, assisting them with everything they needed. They were wonderful, supportive and creative. I hope to be a part of a team like that when I graduate and embark on my career.”

A Visual Merchandising major, Sara has already completed internships with John Varvatos, HambrechtOleson Design Inc., Fashion Group International and Aleana’s Bridal. She plans to pursue a career in store design.
