What made you choose LIM for your college education?
I wanted to pursue a college education that would allow me access to new opportunities, such as networking with mentors, advisors, professors, and other professionals who have experience in fashion. Networking in particular has been essential, preparing me for my own career in the industry. It allows you to open doors and connect to industry leaders with whom you can explore new ventures, build your resume, and share ideas.

How are you enjoying your time as an LIM student?
I’ve greatly enjoyed my experience of being involved in the LIM community and Student Life. I’ve made new friends, taken leadership roles, and discovered new hobbies that allowed me to step outside my comfort zone.

Over the past two years, I've been involved in the Styling Club and the Fashion Show Production and Marketing Clubs. I served as social media Director for our chapter of B.R.A.G. (Black Retail Action Group). I have also been working with Student Life and Student Affairs as a student worker and orientation leader!

What is engaging in LIM College activities like as an online student?
The virtual meetings and student activities I've been involved in help me evenly balance my work and school life. My extracurriculars have given me the opportunity to develop a more active social life and have engagements relevant to my intended career field. I connect with like-minded individuals, expand my friend circle, and focus on my future career, while honing key skills such as problem solving, teamwork, and communication.

What are you learning in your classes?
As a fashion merchandising student, I’m studying how the apparel and textile industries use a globalized network for fashion distribution and production. I’ve explored how fashion houses, retail stores, and marketing campaigns work together to bring clothing to the market. Throughout my courses, I have dived into studying fashion trends, learning about trend forecasting, and understanding how merchandise and manufacturing markets are influenced by cultural norms and behaviors.
