What made you choose to earn your degree online with LIM?
While working full-time in fashion, I wanted to further my fashion knowledge, through an industry-focused learning experience. The online program offered the flexibility to balance school and work, along with other professional opportunities that come up! I was drawn to LIM’s fashion business curriculum and its passion for helping students work towards their goals.
Tell us about your major. What are you learning in it?
I am in the bachelor’s program in Fashion Marketing. My coursework combines creativity with real industry lessons. I’m learning about digital marketing strategies, trend forecasting, consumer behavior, how fashion brands connect with their audiences and building strong identities in a competitive market. The program is something I'm truly passionate about!
What's an example of the real industry lessons you're learning in class?
An especially memorable course for me has been Visual Communication, where I had to create physical concept boards using items from around my home, in order to develop pop-up brand ideas. I realized how much I enjoy translating ideas into visual storytelling and creative direction!
What is the online academic experience at LIM like?
The online academic experience at LIM is structured and flexible! While I do miss talking to peers in person, there's endless support involved in learning online. There are many collaborative opportunities where I've interacted with my peers through group projects and made close connections. I've also build important relationships with my professors.
In what ways is LIM helping you work toward your professional goals?
The college provides incredible opportunities, from engaging in hands-on projects to attending virtual career events and more! The dynamic curriculum pushes me to approach different aspects of the business with a broader perspective. I'm not just learning about the industry; I’m actively becoming a part of it.
