As a Marketing major at LIM, Annalie learned her professional passion was for event planning. Her LIM connections led to an internship at a major New York City arena, which turned into a full-time job after graduation.

Why did you choose LIM College?
I transferred to LIM from a state school. As great as that school was, I didn’t find the fashion program challenging enough. My mom had done research on LIM and once we toured the campus, we knew this was the best place for me to study the business side of fashion and get the best connections for a future career.

What’s happening in your career now?
I am an Event Manager for FIRST working at Google. I plan internal events for Google throughout their New York City campus. Since my sophomore year of college, I knew I wanted to be an event planner and was able to tailor my part-time jobs and internships towards it.

How did LIM help you pursue your career path?
I would absolutely not be where I am today if I hadn’t gone to LIM. A professor introduced me to a great mentor who recently graduated from LIM and worked at Barclay’s Center, where I wanted to intern. She helped me land my Senior Co-op, which turned into a full-time job after graduation. The company already had a full events department, but I showed determination and worked hard, so they added another position to keep me on the team. That’s my proudest career accomplishment.

How do you maintain a work/life balance?
Easier said than done! But I try to separate work and fun. I leave as much work as I can at the office and have 6 - 10 p.m. for myself to have fun in NYC!
