Financial Clearance FAQs Financial Clearance FAQs

If you don’t meet the financial clearance deadline, your course registration and housing assignment could be canceled. That means you might lose your classes and your room. But don’t panic—if you’re running into issues, contact the Student Financial Services team ASAP at sfs@limcollege.edu or 212-310-0689. We’re here to help you work out a solution.

Yes. If you’re not financially cleared by the deadline, your schedule and housing may be dropped. You'll need to go through the clearance process and then re-register or reapply for housing if space is still available. Meeting the deadline helps you avoid that disruption.

You’re financially cleared when:

  • Your bill is paid in full or fully covered by a payment plan and/or confirmed financial aid.
  • All required documents are submitted (FAFSA, loan forms, third-party confirmations, etc.).

Still not sure? Just contact Student Financial Services to confirm your status at 212-310-0689 or sfs@limcollege.edu

Log into myLIM, then:

  • Go to SonisWeb
  • Click Financials > Billing
  • Select the correct semester (Fall 2025/26), click Submit, then click “Click here to view.”

That will show your current billing statement, including tuition, fees, and housing.

If your housing application is approved:

  • A $8,513 charge (Standard Double) will appear on your bill
  • The charge will be updated based on your assigned room type
  • Your $725 housing deposit will be applied toward your Spring 2026 bill

Accounts not fully covered by aid or payment before the start of classes will incur a $100 late fee.

  • FAFSA (if using federal aid)
  • Loan applications (Parent PLUS, private loans)
  • Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling (for federal loans)
  • Third-party documentation (529 plan confirmation, scholarship letters, VA Certificate of Eligibility)
  • Health insurance waiver (if applicable)

You can view your personalized list of missing documents via NetPartner.

Email all confirmations (e.g., 529 payments, outside scholarships, VA eligibility letters) to sfs@limcollege.edu. Make sure your name and student ID are included in the message.
