Summer 2020

July 12-25, 2020

LIM’s NYC Fashion Experience is a two-week summer program that introduces you to the fashion business industry—and lets you explore everything New York City has to offer.

This program is designed for international and U.S. college/university students, as well as professionals who want to explore career paths in the fashion industry. Courses may cover buying, merchandising, trend forecasting, visual merchandising, sustainability, marketing, data analytics, and entrepreneurship, just to name a few. Programs are also available for students looking to improve English language skills.

You’ll spend your mornings enjoying interactive educational courses, while using your afternoons to take part in fashion-oriented activities. Throughout the program, you’ll learn from faculty fashion experts and special guest lecturers straight from the fashion industry. You’ll also visit fashion professionals at the companies where they work and enjoy guided visits to famous New York City landmarks and cultural sites. There will also be plenty of free time to explore NYC and its endless options for food, museums, broadway shows, and shopping, with LIM College advisors available to help with suggestions and arrangements.

Meal & Dining options

Students in the Summer Fashion Program are responsible for their own meals. During the week, there will be an hour break for lunch from 12pm-1pm after morning classes. There is a café inside Maxwell Hall (for when classes are held there). There are also many delis, cafes, fast food outlets, and restaurants very close to the College. Students staying in the residence hall have the option of dining out, ordering food in, or cooking in the communal kitchen. You can access pots, pans, and cooking utensils through the Residence Life Office. All rooms in the residence hall come equipped with a refrigerator/freezer and a microwave. You can also keep food, snacks and drinks in your room. New York City offers a wide variety of food options, including many for those who require a special diet. We advise students to budget $30-$40 USD per day for food. There are no classes and activities scheduled on the weekends, so students have time to explore the city.
