Domestic Graduate Orientation

Graduate Student Orientation & Workshops: Monday, January 8, 2018 thru Tuesday, January 9, 2018

The Graduate Workshops and Orientation consists of several workshops and seminars to prepare you to begin graduate school. You will receive detailed information about all the events that take place upon your arrival on Monday, January 8.

Orientation is a required program and serves as your formal introduction to all that LIM has to offer. We encourage you to ask lots of questions, actively participate, become acquainted with new friends, and learn what will be expected of you as a member of the LIM community.

NSO Highlights

  • A panel discussion that will provide the inside scoop on academics, involvement, and life at LIM.
  • Presentations and opportunities to interact with faculty and staff will allow you to learn more about the many campus resources available to assist in your success.
  • Academic and faculty advisors will inform you about your area of study and departmental expectations.They will also help you register for classes while you are here! (by appointment only) Please email mpsfollowup@limcollege.edu to schedule an appointment during orientation.
  • Time with your Orientation cohort will help you to make lifelong friends.

International Graduate Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance and decision to attend LIM College!

International Student Orientation (ISO) will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018 and run thru Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

This program is the official welcome for all students entering the LIM College community. A Mandatory Check-in will take place during International Student Orientation (ISO). The Graduate Workshops and Orientation consists of several workshops and seminars to prepare you to begin graduate school. You will receive detailed information about all the events that take place upon your arrival on Monday, January 8.

The New Student Orientation Program has a component specifically geared towards our international students. The program, in its entirety, is offered by the Division of Student Affairs in cooperation with many other LIM offices. The program includes various mandatory educational sessions and social activities to prepare international students to adjust to life at LIM, life in New York City, and life in the United States.

All international students should plan to arrive in New York City by Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the latest. The program will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018  in the Townhouse (LIM College, 12 East 53rd Street (between Madison and Fifth Aves).

Please note that International Students are REQUIRED to attend International Student Orientation (ISO). Students must make sure they have entered the United States by the start of ISO.

Mandatory New Student Check-In 

Federal regulations require that newly-admitted international F-1 students must report to the Office of International Student Services (iss@limcollege.edu) at the time of Graduate ISO to confirm their arrival on LIM's campus for required government reporting and to understand important immigration regulations and procedures required of F-1 students. 

During the Mandatory New Student Check-in:

  • You will meet Kate Levy, Coordinator of International Student Services
  • You can ask questions about International Student Orientation and travel documents
  • You can ask questions about life at LIM College
  • You can ask questions about New Student Orientation (for all incoming graduates): orientation@limcollege.edu

As a reminder, the first day of classes is Tuesday, January 16, 2018. All students are required to attend classes on Tuesday.
