Provost Search Update - January 2023

Hello,

I hope you’re having a great beginning to your New Year as we get ready for the start of the spring 2023 semester next week!

In President Marcuse’s December announcement regarding the search for our new Provost, she shared that I will be serving as the Chair of the Provost Search Committee and that milestones for the process will be developed and shared with LIM community as our work progresses.

Since that last communication, we have successfully formed the Provost Search Committee and our Search Firm, Odgers Berndtson, has conducted over 15 virtual listening sessions to capture different voices and perspectives cross-functionally across the College. Listening sessions have included faculty, staff, alumni, and some members of the LIM Board of Directors. An additional listening session is being scheduled with a representative cross-section of students upon their return next week. This feedback is being used to create the position announcement, as well to convey to prospective candidates what is truly special about LIM College.

Proudly serving on our Provost Search Committee are:

  • Christopher E. Barto, Vice President of Government Relations and Community Affairs (Chair)
  • Maura La Hara, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services
  • Dan Chaskes, Chair of Arts and Sciences
  • Latoya Woods, Adjunct Professor at LIM College and Director of Merchandising and Sales at Sequin LLC
  • Patty Mitropoulos, Lecturer, Graduate Studies
  • Davinder Kaur, Vice President of Online Learning
  • Curtis Hoover, Vice President of Student Affairs

With a diverse range of functions and departments represented, we are confident that this group brings together a healthy cross-section of perspectives to help us identify a strong Provost who will support and advance the College’s institutional vision and goals. Thank you to all the Search Committee members for agreeing to serve in this important endeavor!

Carolyn McIntosh, Director of Human Resources, will serve as an Administrative Liaison between the Search Committee and the Search Firm to support the search process and logistics. Carolyn, thank you for your help in supporting this effort!

We are currently in the process of finalizing the position announcement as well as the timeline for the search. The Office of Marketing and Communications will also be assisting the Search Committee in building a page on our website to capture future search updates. We will share with the community when that page is live.

I am both humbled and honored to serve as the Chair of this important Provost Search Committee and look forward to finding the right individual to help LIM blaze a bright path into our future.

If you have any questions regarding the Provost Search, feel free to reach out to Carolyn or me.

Best regards,

Christopher Barto

Vice President of Government Relations and Community Affairs
