Saturday Fashion Lab
Take your interest in fashion to the next level! Offered in the fall and spring, Saturday Fashion Lab is a pre-college fashion workshop that gives students a better understanding of different topics and fields within the fashion industry. Students will participate in workshops to gain introductory knowledge about fashion, including buying and retailing, styling, fashion marketing, event planning, trend forecasting, merchandising, and product development.
All Saturday Fashion Workshops are led by LIM College graduates working in that course’s area of focus. Students will hear about the LIM journey that prepared these alumni for their current field—classes they took, internships they completed, opportunities and connections they made—and learn what a typical workday is like.
This program is open to all high school students and recent high school graduates. Classes are held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday.
Spring 2020 Offerings
Please select up to four courses from the following list.
Workshop in Event Planning & Styling: Film X Fashion (2/1)
In this workshop, you’ll plan the premiere or screening of a film using fashion terminology and the knowledge you’ll gain about event planning.
Workshop in Merchandising & Marketing: The Best of Both Worlds (2/8)
Two LIM alumni now working at major brands will show you how fashion products are designed, developed, merchandised, and eventually marketed. To understand the importance of a product and its message, you’ll also build your own concept and experience the lifecycle of a product.

Competitive shopping is one of the most important tools for a buyer working in fashion and retail. In this workshop, you will learn how to compare an assortment among different retailers.
Registration is accepted up until the first day of each session. Feel free to register for all four days, or pick and choose the days you want to attend!
$75 per individual workshop
