Attend one of our Roommate Mixers to meet potential roommates!

If you find a roommate at one of the mixers, please make sure both of you email residencelife@limcollege.edu with the roommate request. As long as requests are mutual and both students have met all application and payment deadlines, we will do our best to honor them.

LIM’s Office of Housing and Residence Life will provide detailed instructions for move-in as the date approaches.

Generally, you can expect to be able to pull a vehicle up to the sidewalk in front of the residence hall and unload your items. Staff will be there to welcome you, offer a bin to move items in, and provide instructions for checking in and obtaining your keycard.

You will be asked to stay with your vehicle until it is completely unloaded. You will then be directed to move your car to long-term parking and return to the building to unpack and get settled.

Please note: FOUND Study does not have its own parking lot or spaces, so you will need to find street parking or put your car in one of the many paid garages nearby.

We ask that all students unload and move their vehicle quickly to make room for others. You can then spend the rest of the day getting settled!

We've made planning easy! Here's a downloadable packing list and a more in-depth ultimate packing guide. Both include recommendations to what you should pack as well as a list of prohibited items.

There are many stores nearby and we encourage you to pack light, as it is easy to obtain items once you get here.

Here are five important things you should know about moving in to FOUND Study – Midtown East:

  1. We will have people there to help! Current LIM students and staff will be at the residence hall on move-in dates for new students to welcome you and provide help with moving in.
  2. If you arrive via car you can pull your car up to the building (we will tell you exactly where) and unload before moving the car to a parking location.
  3. If you arrive by plane or train you can take a taxi or car service to the building and unload in front. You can also take the subway! The residence hall is right across the street from the 51st St./Lexington Ave stop on the 6 subway line.
  4. Bring what you need and you can always shop later! Check the packing list in the FAQ item above. We encourage you to pack light and buy things as you need them. In New York City, closet space is always limited!
  5. There’s more to come! You will receive an email with detailed information about what time you should arrive, how to get your key, how to unload your car, where to park, and more! Information will be coming throughout the summer!

You can enjoy the day and get settled! You will meet your Residential Advisors and receive information about required community meetings. The College will have Orientation programs planned for our new students and fun activities for all students to fill the weekend until the first day of classes.

You can find a copy of your contract right here! It's helpful to keep this handy, as it will often answer many of your questions and is useful in understanding your responsibilities as a residential student.
